What this page calls Krasta rajons
Krasta rajons is not an official Riga neighbourhood. It is the commercial and everyday name for a linear area along Krasta iela and the Daugava, where retail, offices, logistics and housing mix. Officially, the addresses here belong to the adjoining neighbourhoods, and the name has no precise boundary.
In practice this changes nothing: Riga's rules and our price list are the same throughout the city, and in Riga we don't charge for travel kilometres. Simply give the exact address in your request.
Food outlets in shopping centres: a shared or a separate separator
A shopping centre's food court can have one shared grease separator for several kitchens, or a separate one for each kitchen. With a shared separator, it is important to establish in advance who is responsible for cleaning (the tenant or the building manager) and who receives the certificate.
Riga's rules prohibit discharging fats and food waste into the city sewer, so at an inspection you must be able to show when the separator was last cleaned. We coordinate the work with the centre's manager: entry through the loading area, a spot for the truck and a time when the kitchens are not cooking. How cleaning works in a shopping centre
- Site details In your request, give the separator's location (underground by the loading area, in the basement or in the kitchen), its approximate volume and a contact person from the building manager.
- Access We agree with security on entry to the loading area, a parking spot for the truck and a hose route that doesn't cross the flow of shoppers.
- Pumping and cleaning We pump out the grease layer, water and sediment, clean the baffles and check that the inlet pipes from all the kitchens are clear.
- Certificate We issue the customer a document with the date and volume, stating which separator and building it applies to.
Development land and building sites
Along Krasta iela there is land still waiting to be built on, and building sites where portable toilets stand for the workers. If you own the cabins or servicing is not included in the rental agreement, we pump them out in one trip, as long as the total volume fits in the tanker.
After rain, the access road to a building site can become hard to drive on, so it is better to place the cabins close to a firm road rather than behind piles of materials. We deliver the contents to a wastewater reception point. More details: portable toilet pumping.
New builds: connection and pump stations
In Riga, connecting a new build to the mains sewer is mandatory if the service pipe has been laid up to the property boundary. If the building's outlet or underground floor is lower than the street network, the wastewater is pumped up by a pump station, which needs a non-return valve, an alarm and maintenance.

Apartment buildings and car repair shops along Krasta iela
Apartment buildings in Krasta rajons with basements or underground car parks may need wastewater lifting and pumping out water after heavy rain; we help building managers with basement pumping and station maintenance.
For car repair shops, we only pump out domestic wastewater tanks. The contents of oil separators are hazardous waste and are handled by specialised companies.
Traffic on Krasta iela and near the bridges
Krasta iela, Salu tilts and Dienvidu tilts provide regional road access, but in the heavy traffic it is impossible to stop on the street to work. The truck needs a spot on the premises: in the loading area, at the edge of a car park or in a yard.
In your request, state the entrance, any height restrictions (if the lid is in an underground car park or under a canopy) and a contact person on site. It is windy on the bank of the Daugava, so in winter check before the work that the lid is not frozen shut or buried in snow.
